Onion And Bacon Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

200 g butter
400 g plain flour
5 medium eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp oil
500 g red onions, cut into rings
300 g creme fraiche
150 g sour cream
1/4 tsp nutmeg
100 g streaky bacon
2 stalks thyme, for garnsih
Preparation

Combine butter, flour, 2 eggs, 2-5 tbsp cold water and 1/2 tsp salt to form a smooth dough. Cover and set aside to rest for 1 hour.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a frying pan, add onion and cook for 5 mins. Set aside. Mix sour cream, 3 eggs and nutmeg and season. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 400\u00b0F. Roll dough into a 13 x 16 inch rectangle then use to line a slightly smaller greased baking dish, tucking in edges. Distribute onions over top then cover with sour cream mixture. Arrange bacon on top and bake for around 30 mins until bacon is crispy. Serve garnished with thyme.
