Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tbsp olive oil
    1 large onion, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    2 tbsp tomato paste
    2 cans (15 oz each) crushed tomatoes
    1/3 cup finely shredded fresh basil leaves
Preparation
    Heat the oil in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan on medium heat. Cook the onion and garlic, stirring, until the onion softens.
    Add the tomato paste and cook, stirring, for 1 min. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low; simmer, uncovered, for about 30 mins or until the sauce thickens slightly. Stir in the basil.
