Gluten-Free Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 None Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled, sliced
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup ground almonds
    1 cup desiccated coconut
    6 1/2 tbsp butter, chopped
    None None warmed custard or heavy cream, to serve
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Lightly grease a 9 1/2 inch pie dish. Place apples in a microwave-safe bowl and cook on HIGH (100%) power for 2-4 mins, until slightly tender. Add 3/4 cup sugar and let cool.
    Combine ground almonds, coconut and remaining sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add 2 tsp ice water and mix until combined. Press evenly over base and sides of dish. Bake for 10-12 mins.
    Fill pie shell with apple mixture. Bake for 15-20 mins, until edges are golden. Let cool to room temperature before slicing. Serve with warmed custard.
