Caramel Macadamia Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 None egg
    1/2 cup granulated sugar
    1/3 cup vegetable oil
    3/4 cup flour, sifted
    1/4 cup self-rising flour, sifted
    1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    12 tbsp (1 1/2 sticks) butter
    2 tbsp light corn syrup
    9 oz unsalted macadamias, halved
Preparation
    Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease an 11 x 7-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.
    Beat egg and granulated sugar in large bowl with electric mixer until pale and thick. Add oil and beat until well combined. Fold in combined flours. Spread in prepared pan. Bake for 20 mins, or until puffed and golden.
    Meanwhile, place brown sugar, butter and syrup in a heavy-bottomed saucepan on low heat. Stir for 5 mins, or until butter has melted and sugar has dissolved. Simmer, without stirring, for 10 mins, until caramelized. Add nuts.
    Pour topping over crust and, working quickly, spread evenly. Bake for 10-12 mins, until topping is golden. Cool in pan on wire rack. Slice and serve.
