Italian Style Burgers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 None red onion, finely chopped
    1 None large egg
    3/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/3 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
3 tbsp finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 tsp chili flakes
3 None red peppers (about 1 1/4 lb), quartered, deseeded
    1 tbsp olive oil
12 slices ciabatta bread (about 1 lb)
5 oz drained marinated artichoke hearts, thinly sliced
    2 oz baby arugula
    None None Tomato Sauce
    3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1 lb small ripe tomatoes, thickly sliced
    2 tsp balsamic vinegar
Preparation
To make the tomato sauce, heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook garlic, stirring, until fragrant. Add tomatoes and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 30 mins, or until sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and stir in vinegar.
Meanwhile, to make the burgers, combine beef, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, cheese, parsley, garlic and chili flakes. Shape into 6 patties, cover and chill until required.
Preheat broiler. Broil peppers, skin-side up, until skin blisters and blackens. Cover pepper with plastic wrap and let cool for 5 mins. Peel skin. Slice peppers thinly.
Heat oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Cook burger patties for about 5 mins per side, or until cooked through.
Broil bread until golden. Spread 1/2 the tomato sauce over top then cover with artichokes, peppers, burgers and arugula. Top with remaining sauce and toast. Serve.
