Squash And Apple Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 None lemon, juiced
    1 lb Kambocha squash, halved, deseeded
    3 lbs apples, cored
    1 1/4 cup butter, diced (2 1/2 sticks)
    1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    5 None eggs
    3 1/4 all purpose flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    6 tbsp skim milk
    3 1/3 tbsp + 2 tsp brown sugar
    2.75 oz walnut halves, coarsely chopped (about 2/3 cup)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Peel and finely grate the squash. Slice apples thinly and drizzle with lemon juice.
    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add sifted flour and baking powder alternately with the milk and mix until smooth. Stir in the grated squash.
    Roll out dough and place on a greased, floured 12 x 15 inch baking sheet. Arrange apple slices on top. Bake for about 30 mins. Meanwhile, caramelize 3 tbsp brown sugar in a pan, add chopped walnuts, stir for 2 mins until golden brown.
    Remove cake from oven 10 mins before end of baking time, sprinkle with the caramelized walnuts and 2 tbsp brown sugar. Return cake to oven to finish baking. Leave cake to cool for 30 mins, then cut into slices.
