Date And Almond Brownies - cooking recipe

10.5 oz dark chocolate, chopped
1 cup butter, chopped
4 oz fresh dates, pitted
4 None large eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups ground almonds
3/4 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 tbsp cocoa powder, plus extra for dusting
2 tbsp sliced almonds, toasted
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0F. Grease and line a deep 8 inch square cake pan with parchment paper, extending paper 2 inches over sides.
Stir chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat until smooth. Stir in dates. Transfer to a medium bowl and let cool for 10 mins.
Whisk eggs and sugar into chocolate mixture then stir in ground almonds, flour and cocoa powder. Transfer to prepared pan and sprinkle with nuts. Bake for 35 mins. Let cool in pan before cutting into squares. Dust with cocoa powder to serve.
