Shepherd'S Pie - cooking recipe

1 kg floury potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
600 g minced lamb
3 medium onions, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried rosemary
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp ground cumin
125 ml semi-skimmed milk
2 tbsp butter
1 pinch nutmeg
None None fresh rosemary and thyme for garnish
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0F. Cook the potatoes in boiling salted water for about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan and cook the ground lamb for about 5 minutes until browned then add the onion and garlic and cook for a few more minutes. Add the chili powder, thyme, rosemary, oregano, and cumin and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Drain the potatoes and mash, with the milk and butter, until smooth. Stir in the nutmeg and season to taste with salt and pepper. Transfer the meat to a roasting pan, top with the mashed potato and bake for about 20 minutes, until golden brown. Serve with a garnish of rosemary and thyme.
