Date And Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

4 1/2 tbsp butter, at room temperature, chopped, plus extra to serve
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 None large eggs
2 1/4 cups self-rising flour
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup milk
3 oz pitted dates, chopped
1/3 cup pecans, chopped
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0F. Lightly grease and line 2 loaf pans with parchment paper.
Beat butter and sugar until combined. Add eggs and beat well. Sift flour and cinnamon together then fold into creamed mixture alternately with milk. Lightly mix in dates and pecans. Spoon into prepared pans and bake for 40-45 mins, until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool slightly.
Serve sliced with butter.
