Beef And Endive Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/8 cup butter
    1 1/3 lbs Belgian endive, trimmed and thinly sliced
    1 tsp brown sugar
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 None onion, peeled and finely chopped
    1 None garlic clove, peeled and crushed
    2/3 lb ground beef
    1 14 oz can chopped tomatoes
    1 tsp tomato puree
    1/2 tsp dried Italian herbs
    2 cups mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
    3/4 cup creme fraiche or sour cream
Preparation
    Melt the butter in a large frying pan and add the endive. Saute over a medium heat for 2 mins then add brown sugar and cook for a 5-6 mins more until the endive is tender and lightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.
    Add the oil the frying pan and saute the onion and garlic over a medium heat for 5 mins. Add the ground beef and fry, stirring, for 5-6 mins until browned all over. Stir in the tomatoes, puree, herbs and simmer for 10-15 mins, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened. Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F.
    Add the fried chicory to the Bolognese sauce and season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Layer the Bolognese mixture and sliced mozzarella between four individual oven proof dishes, finishing with mozzarella. Spoon over the sour cream and season lightly. Bake for 20-25 mins until the golden and bubbling.
