Orange Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    12 tbsp butter, softened
    3/4 cup granulated sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
    1 None orange, zested
    1 None medium egg, lightly beaten
    3 oz currants
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt onto a piece of parchment paper. Set aside.
    Beat butter until soft. Add sugar and beat until light and creamy. Add orange zest then gradually beat in egg. Add currants. Mix in dry ingredients, in 3 batches, until just combined. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. Roll into a log about 16 inches long. Cut in 1/2 then wrap each piece in plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Line 2 baking trays with parchment paper. Cut dough into thin rounds and place on trays. Sprinkle lightly with sugar. Bake for 10-12 mins, until golden. Let cool on a wire rack.
