Beef And Bacon Patties With Cabbage Mash And Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 slices bacon, finely chopped
    1 lb ground beef
    1 cup stale breadcrumbs
    1 None egg
    3 None green onions, chopped
    1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    2 tbsp barbecue sauce
    1 tbsp vegetable oil
    1 tbsp Dijon mustard
    2 cups beef stock
    1 tbsp cornflour
    2 tbsp water
    None None FOR THE CABBAGE MASH
    2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
    1/4 cup heavy cream or milk
    2 tbsp butter, chopped
    7 oz finely shredded Savoy cabbage
    2 None green onions, chopped
Preparation
    Cook the bacon in a large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Cool slightly.
    Mix bacon, ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, parsley, Worcestershire sauce and 1 tbsp of the barbecue sauce in a bowl until well blended. Season. Shape into 8 patties.
    For the cabbage mash, boil, steam or microwave the potatoes until tender. Drain and return to pan. Mash with cream or milk and butter until smooth. Stir in the cabbage and onions.
    Heat the oil in the same nonstick pan on medium heat. Add patties and cook until browned on both sides and cooked through. Remove from the pan and cover to keep warm.
    Drain any excess oil from pan. Add mustard, stock and remaining 1 tbsp barbecue sauce. Bring to a boil. Mix cornstarch and 2 tbsp water until smooth. Add to the pan and cook, stirring, until the gravy boils and thickens.
    Serve the patties with gravy and cabbage mash.
