Homemade Pizza Dough And Basic Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

2 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
None None Basic Tomato Sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
1 None small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup tomato puree
1 (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp chopped fresh oregano leaves
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves
Preparation

To make the pizza dough, combine yeast, sugar and 3/4 cup warm water in a small bowl. Cover and let stand in a warm place for 10 mins, or until frothy.
Sift flour and salt into a large bowl. Stir in yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix with your hands until all ingredients are incorporated. Turn out onto a lightly floured work surface and knead for 10 mins, or until elastic. Place in a large lightly oiled bowl. Cover and let stand in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Punch dough down then knead on a lightly floured work surface until smooth. Shape as desired.
To make the tomato sauce, heat olive oil in a pan. Cook onion and garlic until onion is soft. Add tomato puree, tomatoes, sugar and oregano. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 25 mins. Stir in basil and season to taste.
