Baked Alaska - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 oz chocolate cake, chopped
    3 cups chocolate chip ice cream, softened slightly
    3 None egg whites
    1/2 cup granulated sugar
Preparation
    Line a large metal bowl with plastic wrap. Fold chocolate cake into ice cream. Transfer to prepared bowl, smooth surface and cover with plastic wrap. Freeze for 6 hours, or until firm.
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0F. Whip egg whites to soft peaks. Gradually add sugar, beating well after each addition, until thick and glossy.
    Working quickly, turn ice cream cake out onto an ovenproof plate. Remove plastic wrap and spread meringue over top. Bake for 3-4 mins, or until golden. Serve immediately.
