Espresso Rubbed Strip Steaks - cooking recipe

5 tsp barbecue seasoning, like McCormick
2 tsp instant espresso powder
4 (1 lb) strip steaks, 3/4\" thick
1 cup beef broth
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp fresh thyme
1 tsp cornstarch, mixed with 1 tsp cold water
Preparation

In a small bowl, combine 1 tbsp barbecue seasoning and espresso powder. Season steaks with 1 tbsp mixture and coat with oil. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook steaks for 6 mins, turning once. Set aside to rest.
Pour off fat from pan and return pan to heat. Add beef broth, cocoa powder, remaining barbecue seasoning and thyme. Stir in cornstarch slurry then boil for 1 min. Serve with steaks.
