Red, White And Blue Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 x 500 g packs plain cake mix
    75 g cherry flavoured jelly
None None red and blue liquid food colouring
    75 g Blueberry flavoured jelly
    3 x 500 g packs white or vanilla frosting
    500 g pack marshmallow cream
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans. Prepare cake mix in one large bowl according to package directions. Divide batter evenly among into 9 smaller bowls.
Add 10 tsp cherry gelatin and 3/4 tsp red food color to one bowl. To a second bowl, add 7 tsp cherry gelatin and 1/2 tsp red food color. To a third bowl, add 3 tsp cherry gelatin and 1/4 tsp red food color. To a fourth bowl, add just 1 drop of red food color.
Repeat with blueberry gelatin and blue food color for 4 more bowls. You should have 4 red and 4 blue cake batters that go from light to really dark, with 1 bowl of plain cake batter.
Spread each color cake batter at a time into a cake pan and bake for about 10 mins. Cool in pan 5 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Wash, grease and flour the pans and bake another batch of cakes. Repeat so that you have 9 layers of cake. Set all aside to cool.
Reserve about 1 1/2 cups of frosting. Whisk the remaining frosting with the marshmallow fluff. Place the darkest blue cake on a serving plate. Spread with about 1/2 cup frosting. Layer with the remaining blue layers, from dark to lightest, spreading with frosting.
Top with the white cake layer then spread with frosting. Continue with the red layers from the lightest to the darkest to make the 9 layer tower.
Coat the top and sides with the some of the reserved frosting. Refrigerate about 1 hour. Place the remaining reserved frosting into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe a decorative border round the top and bottom of the cake then a few stars in the middle if you have enough frosting. \r\n\r\nFinally, add a few patriotic red, white and blue decorations.
