Pecan Macadamia Bars - cooking recipe

8 oz butter cookies, crumbled
9 tbsp butter, melted
14 oz can condensed milk
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp golden syrup
5 oz pecans, halved lengthwise
5 oz macadamia nuts, halved
2 oz dark chocolate, melted
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0F. Lightly grease and line an 8 x 10 inch baking dish, extending paper 1 inch above edges on long sides. For the pastry base, process cookies in a food processor until fine crumbs form. Add melted butter and pulse to combine. Press firmly into pan.
For the topping, combine condensed milk, brown sugar and golden syrup in a medium saucepan. Stir over low heat 8-10 mins, until golden. Stir in nuts and pour on to pastry base. Bake 8-10 mins, until golden. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Drizzle with melted chocolate and cut into rectangles to serve.
