Whole Wheat Fruit And Seed Loaves - cooking recipe

1/2 cup whole wheat self-rising flour
1/2 cup self-rising flour
3 tbsp butter, chopped
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup chopped dried apricots
1/4 cup raisins
2.5 oz seed mix, plus 2 tbsp extra to sprinkle
1 tbsp poppy seeds, plus 1/2 tsp extra to sprinkle
1/3 cup low-fat yogurt
1 cup orange juice
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0F. Grease a large baking tray.
Sift flour into a large bowl, adding any husks to bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs then stir in sugar, dried fruit, seed mix and poppy seeds. Make a well in the center and stir in yogurt and enough orange juice to make a soft, sticky dough.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and knead until combined (the dough should be soft and sticky). Divide into 8 equal pieces and shape into rounds. Place on prepared tray, 2 inches apart, and brush tops with a little water. Sprinkle with extra seed mix and poppy seeds. Bake for 20 mins, or until golden and loaves sound hollow when tapped on the bottom. Serve warm.
