Pomegranate-Glazed Baked Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 None bone-in, skin-on leg or shoulder ham (about 11 lbs)
    None None Whole cloves, to decorate
    2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
    1 tbsp brown sugar
Preparation
    To prepare ham, cut skin in a zigzag around shank, 4 inches from knuckle. Don't cut into meat. Push thumb under skin at shank end to loosen rind, then loosen rind around edges of ham. Gently pull rind from fat to remove.
    Preheat the oven to 325\u00b0F. Score fat in a diamond pattern, careful not to cut into meat. Stud with cloves. Place in a roasting pan and cover with foil. Bake for 45 mins.
    For the glaze, combine pomegranate molasses, brown sugar and 2 tbsp water in a bowl. Remove foil and brush glaze all over ham.
    Increase oven to 400\u00b0F. Bake, basting occasionally with pan juices, for 35-40 mins, until richly colored and shiny.
    Protect hand from heat by covering shank with a piece of muslin or napkin. Hold shank and, starting from opposite end, carve ham with a carving knife. Serve hot or at room temperature.
