Spiced Red Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp ground turmeric
    150 g red lentils, soaked in water for 10 mins
    200 g carrots, peeled and diced
    400 g tomatoes, diced
    1 None medium onion, peeled and finely diced
    15 g fresh root ginger, peeled and finely diced
    1 tsp garam masala
    1/2 tsp ground coriander
    None None Pinch of ground lovage
    None None Pinch of ground fenugreek
    None None Pinch of ground cloves
Preparation
    Bring 3 cups water to a boil in a large saucepan. Drain the lentils and add to the pan along with the turmeric and carrots. Reduce the heat to low; cover and simmer for 15 mins, adding more water if necessary.
    Add the tomatoes, onion, ginger and spices. Simmer for 15 mins. Season with salt and ladle into bowls.
