Ingredients

2 None onions, chopped
4 None apples, peeled, cored, chopped
4 None pears, peeled, cored, chopped
2 cups cider vinegar
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup chopped pitted dates
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup raisins
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Preparation

Place the onion and 1/2 cup water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 mins until the onion is tender.
Add the apples and pears. Simmer for 10-15 mins, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has thickened and the fruit is tender.
Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil on medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 25-30 mins until the chutney is thick. Remove from the heat. Let stand for 10 mins.
Ladle chutney into hot sterilized jars; seal immediately. Cool to room temperature. Label, date, then store in a cool place.
