Curried Lamb With Peas And Mint - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp ground cumin
    1 tsp ground turmeric
    1/4 tsp ground cloves
    1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
    4 None cardamom pods, bruised
    None None Lamb with Peas and Mint
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1 None onion, thinly sliced
    1 lb ground lamb
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 inch fresh ginger, peeled, grated
    1/2 lb frozen peas
    1 (13.5 oz) can green lentils, drained
    2 None tomatoes, finely chopped
    1 bunch fresh mint, chopped
    None None plain yogurt, to serve
    None None pappadums, to serve
Preparation
    To make the spice mix, combine all spices. Set aside.
    In a medium saucepan, heat oil over high heat. Saute onion for 4-5 mins, until lightly golden. Add ground lamb, garlic and ginger. Cook for 5-6 mins, breaking up lumps, until browned. Add spice mix, reduce heat and cook, covered, for 8-10 mins, stirring occasionally.
    Add peas, lentils and 1/2 cup water. Cook for 4-5 mins, until liquid evaporates. Remove from heat. Season. Add tomatoes and mint. Serve with yogurt and pappadums.
