Meatballs Stuffed With Cheddar And Basil - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tbsp olive oil
    1 None onion, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 lb ground beef
    1 None egg, lightly beaten
    2 oz Cheddar cheese, grated
    1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs
    2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
    1 tbsp tomato paste
    None None FOR THE TOMATO SAUCE
    2 tsp olive oil
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (13.5 oz) can chopped tomatoes
    1 tbsp brown sugar
    1 tbsp malt vinegar
Preparation
    Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Saute onion and garlic for 2-3 mins, until tender. Let cool then mix with ground beef, egg, cheese, breadcrumbs, basil and tomato paste. Shape into 30 meatballs. Chill for 20 mins.
    Heat remaining oil and cook meatballs for 15-20 mins, turning, until browned and cooked through.
    Meanwhile, for the tomato sauce, heat oil in a small frying pan over low heat. Saute garlic for 1 min. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 mins. Serve with meatballs.
