Poached Pears In Redcurrant Tea - cooking recipe

1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp redcurrant jelly
2 None redcurrant-flavored tea bags
4 None firm pears, peeled, cored and halved lengthwise
1/3 cup fresh cranberries
None None Greek-style yogurt, to serve (optional)
Preparation

Place sugar, honey, redcurrant jelly and tea bags in a large saucepan. Add 2 1/2 cups water; bring to a boil on medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
Add pears; cover and simmer for 12-15 mins, until pears are just tender. Remove from heat. Remove and discard tea bags.
Stir in cranberries. Let stand for 15 mins, for flavors to infuse. Serve pears with warm syrup and yogurt, if desired.
