Banana Caramel Squares - cooking recipe

1 cup self-rising flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
7 tbsp butter, melted
2 medium bananas, sliced thinly diagonally
1 cup heavy cream, whipped, for topping
2 oz milk chocolate, for topping

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
6 tbsp (3/4 stick) butter, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
2 tbsp dark corn syrup
Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease 12 x 8-inch baking pan and line the bottom and long sides with parchment paper, extending the paper 2 inches over the sides.
Combine the sifted flour and sugar in a small bowl and stir in the butter. Press the mixture firmly onto the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for about 20 mins. Cool.
Meanwhile, for the caramel filling, cook all ingredients in a medium saucepan on medium heat for about 12 mins or until caramel in color. Cool for 5 mins.
Pour the filling over the crust. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.
Place the banana over the caramel, then top with whipped cream. Grate the chocolate, using a vegetable peeler, over the cream. Cut into squares. Serve.
