Apple Almond Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and halved
    1/2 cup raisins
    1/2 cup pure maple syrup
4 tbsp (1/2 stick) butter, chopped
    1 1/4 cups self-rising flour
    2 tbsp light brown sugar
    1/2 cup light cream
    3/4 cup sliced almonds
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease a 6-cup baking dish.
Place the apples, cut-side up, in a single layer, in the prepared dish. Sprinkle with raisins. Drizzle with maple syrup and dot with 2 tbsp of the butter. Cover the dish with foil. Bake for 20 mins.
Sift the flour and sugar into a medium bowl. Rub in the remaining 2 tbsp butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add the cream and stir with a spatula to make a soft sticky dough.
Remove the foil from the dish. Spoon the dough evenly over the apples. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake for a further 25 mins or until the apples are tender and the cobbler is lightly browned. Let stand 10 mins before serving with cream, custard or ice cream.
