Marinara Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tablespoons olive oil or 2 tablespoons salad oil
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
    1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
    1 tablespoon sugar
    2 teaspoons basil
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Preparation
    In 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, in oil, cook garlic and onion until tender, 5 minutes.
    Stir in tomatoes, their liquid, and remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to low; cover; cook 20 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
