Spicy Cherry And Apple Chutney - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15 ounce) can dark sweet cherries, drained
    1 large tart apple, pared, cored, diced
    3/4 cup vinegar
    3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    1 1/2 teaspoons fresh garlic, minced
    1/4 teaspoon red chile, crushed (optional)
Preparation
    In a heavy medium-size saucepan, combine all ingredients & bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat & simmer 20 to 30 minutes until thickened.
    Serve hot or cold with any type of meat. Rrefrigerate any leftovers.
