Old Fashioned Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    butter
    6 slices stale bread
    3 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 quart milk
Preparation
    Generously spread each slice of bread with butter. Place buttered side down in greased casserole dish.
    Combine the eggs, sugar, salt and milk. Strain liquid while pouring over bread in dish.
    Let stand for 30 minutes.
    Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Cover during first half hour of baking.
    Serve warm or cold.
