Cherry Chocolate Chip Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1/3 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 egg
    1/3 cup 2% low-fat milk
    1/4 cup canola oil
    1 teaspoon almond extract
    1/2 cup halved maraschino cherry
    1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    In a small bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, oil, and extract together.
    Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
    Fold in cherries and chocolate chips.
    Fill paper-lined muffin cups 3/4 full.
    Bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 20-25 minutes or until a pick comes out clean.
    Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
