Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
6 ounces canned tomato paste
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup tomato sauce
2 teaspoons sugar
1 tablespoon basil pesto (I used Digiorno)
3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons red wine
1/2 tablespoon pine nuts, smashed (optional)
Preparation

In a medium saucepan, saute garlic in oil until it just starts to turn golden.
Add remaining ingredients.
Simmer for 10 minutes over medium low heat.
