Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/3 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup molasses
1 egg, slightly beaten
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0F.
Grease (not oil) bottom only of 8 or 9 inch square pan.
In a large bowl, combine first 7 ingredients.
Add remaining ingredients; blend well.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0F for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
For gingerbread muffins: use 12 paper baking cups in muffin tin instead of square pan and bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes.
