Apple Crumble (Award Winning) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 sheets phyllo dough
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    4 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
    butter-flavored cooking spray
    TOPPING
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
    1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 cup butter, cold
    1/4 cup almonds, slivered
Preparation
    Cut phyllo in half, spritz with butter-flavored spray.
    Layer phyllo with sprayed side up, in a greased 8 inch square baking dish.
    In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, ginger, and cinnamon.
    Add apples and toss to coat.
    Spoon over phyllo dough.
    Topping:
    In a bowl combine bread crumbs, flour, brown sugar, ginger, and cinnamon.
    Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse bread crumbs.
    Add almonds.
    Sprinkle over apple mixture.
    Bake at 350\u00b0F for 40- 45 minutes or until filling is bubbly and topping is golden.
    Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
