Plum Sauce For Canning - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 cups plums, chopped and pitted
    4 cups apples, chopped
    2 cups brown sugar
    1 cup white sugar
    3/4 cup onion, chopped
    2 tablespoons mustard seeds
    2 tablespoons chili peppers, chopped
    1 inch fresh ginger, peeled
    1 tablespoon salt
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 cup cider vinegar
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
    Bring to a boil, reduce heat.
    Cook until thick and syrupy, about 1 1/2 hours.
    Ladle hot sauce into hot jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
    Process 20 minutes in a boiling-water canner.
    Yields 4 pints. (1 pint serves 4).
