Gingerbread (Pre-1940'S) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 cup milk (sour)
1 3/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup molasses
2 1/4 cups flour
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons ginger
1 teaspoon salt
Preparation

Mix soda with sour milk and add to molasses.
Sift together flour, ginger and salt.
Combine the two mixtures.
Add butter.
Bake in greased pan in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes.
