Ingredients

1 cup light roast ground coffee (coarsely ground)
3/4 cup green cardamom pods
13 1/2 water cup water
1 tablespoon ground cardamom (optional)
Preparation

Place the cardamom pods in a mortar and pestle and hit several times to open pods.
Place pods in a medium pot over a medium heat and let the pods \"roast\" for approximately 1 minute. This will release the flavor and aroma.
Then add water and coffee to the pot and let boil for about 7-10 minutes.
Strain the coffee and place in a carafe to keep hot.
