Quick Chili Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 lb pork sausage (more if desired, Vegetarians may omit the sausage and add another can of beans) (optional)
    1 large yellow onion, diced
    1 large green bell pepper, diced
    1 (15 ounce) can chili beans
    1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes
    2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
    2 2/3 - 3 1/2 cups water
    1 tablespoon garlic powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    2 teaspoons cumin
    1 tablespoon chili powder
    1 teaspoon sugar
Preparation
    Brown and\"crumble\" sausage.
    Add diced onion& pepper.
    Saute until onions are almost clear.
    Add tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, seasonings and water.
    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
    Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.
    Total preparation time is about 30 minutes, because of dicing the vegetables and browning meat.
    Makes about 2 quarts.
    Will feed 4 easily with seconds.
    Cornbread goes well with this soup.
