Pasquale'S Italian Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 ounces olive oil
    1 onion (large chopped)
    4 garlic cloves
    1 tablespoon dried basil
    1 tablespoon nutmeg
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
    4 (28 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
    10 ounces tomato paste
    6 ounces red wine
    3 tablespoons butter
Preparation
    Heat oil in a large pot and cook onion, garlic and seasonings for 5 minutes.
    Add tomatoes, tomato paste, wine and butter.
    Simmer for 30 minutes till sauce is fairly thick, and once the golden oil floats on top you know it is done.
