Polish Cabbage Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage
    2 lbs russet potatoes
    1 lb carrot
    1 onion, chopped
    1 cup celery, chopped
    2 teaspoons butter
    1 smoked sausage
    1 (16 ounce) can chicken broth
    1/2 teaspoon thyme
    1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
    1/4 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
Preparation
    1. Melt butter in large pot over a stove. Saute celery and onions. Add chicken broth and time to the mix.
    2. Chop cabbage, potatoes, sausage and carrots and add them as well. Cover with adequate amount of water and simmer until potatoes are tender. Stir often.
    3. Serve stew in soup mugs with salt and pepper being added if necessary.
