Hot Water Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups white cornmeal
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    1/3 cup shortening
    1 cup boiling water
    2/3 cup whole milk
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly, cook in hot cast iron skillet, with small amount of grease, on top of stove for 3 minutes. Finish cooking in hot oven (500 degrees) for 13 minutes, then brown under broiler.
