Butter Almond Crunch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 cup sliced almonds
    3/4 cup shredded sweetened coconut
    1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    3 tablespoons water
    1 tablespoon light corn syrup
    1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation
    Combine almonds and coconut.
    Spread in a thin layer over bottom of a buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Melt butter or margine in a saucepan.
    Stir in the rest of the ingredients.
    Cook, without stirring until mixture comes to soft crack stage, 290 degrees F.
    Remove from heat and pour in a thin stream evenly over almonds and coconut.
    Cool.
    Break into pieces.
    Store in an air-tight container.
