Marinara - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
    1/3 cup olive oil
    1 1/2 tablespoons kosher salt
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    1 tablespoon sugar
    2 large onions, chopped
    1 teaspoon black pepper
    1 tablespoon fresh basil
    3 tablespoons garlic, minced
Preparation
    In a large sauce pan saute olive oil, onions, and garlic until soft.
    Add salt, pepper, oregano, and basil, stir.
    Add tomatoes and sugar.
    Slowly bring to a boil then simmer covered over low heat 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
    Makes 10 cups.
