Mock Chopped Herring (Sardine Spread) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion
    1 apple (peeled, cored and quartered)
    2 (3 1/4 ounce) cans sardines, drained
    1 slice white bread
    3 hard-cooked eggs (peeled and halved)
    3 -4 tablespoons white vinegar
    1 -2 teaspoon sugar (or to taste)
    1 pinch salt
    black pepper (optional)
Preparation
    Place the onion and apple in the processor; process until finely minced (about 6-8 seconds).
    Add in sardines and process another 5-6 seconds.
    Moisten the bread with cold water and squeeze out the excess moisture with hands.
    Add in chunks of the bread along with remaining ingredients; process about 8-10 seconds longer or until just blender.
    Season with salt to taste.
    Chill for 4 hours before serving.
