Cherry Nut Bars 1970 - cooking recipe
Ingredients

Base
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup margarine or 3/4 cup oil
Filling
2 large eggs
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup maraschino cherry, chopped
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Preparation

Combine the flour, margarine and sugar in a bowl well.
Pat into a 9 x 13 inch pan .
Bake 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
Remove and let cool slightly while preparing the filling.
Filling:.
Beat together the eggs, yolk, brown sugar, flour, salt, and powder.
Add in the chopped nuts and cherries.
Pour over baked crust and return to oven at 350 degrees for another 20 to 25 minutes.
Remove and cool completely. Cut into bars.
