Apple-Sage Chutney - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 cup onion, thinly sliced
    2 1/2 lbs tart apples, coarsely chopped w/skin
    1 cup apple cider
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    1/3 cup dried cherries
    1/2 cup golden raisin
    1/3 cup dates, chopped
    6 tablespoons white wine vinegar
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 cup fresh sage, chopped
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in heavy saucepan and cook until thick.
