Onion Strings With Southwestern Ranch Dipping Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large vidalia onion, sliced thinly
2 cups flour
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon pepper
2 cups buttermilk
oil (for frying)
Dipping Sauce
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
Preparation

Preheat cooking oil to 350 degrees.
Pour the buttermilk in a very large bowl.
Soak the onions in the buttermilk for 15 minutes.
Combine the flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Drain the onions.
Toss the onions in the flour mixture.
Once the onions are coated, fry in oil for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Dipping sauce:
Combine all the ingredients and mix well. Serve with hot onion strings.
