Simple Homemade Applesauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
    1/2 cup cold water
    1 cinnamon stick
    2 -3 tablespoons sugar
Preparation
    Place apples, water, and cinnamon in a heavy saucepan.
    Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
    Mash sugar into the apples; cook for another 5 minutes.
    Remove cinnamon stick; cool and store in a tightly covered bowl in the refrigerator.
