Gule Aerter (Yellow Pea Soup) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups yellow split peas
    1 quart chicken stock
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 lb bacon, chopped
    1 stalk celery, chopped
    3 medium leeks, chopped
    3 medium carrots, chopped
    3 medium potatoes, chopped
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 lb Canadian bacon, chopped
    4 ounces vienna sausages, chopped (optional)
    salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients and simmer for 1 hour.
    Serve.
