Portuguese Spiced Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup rice
    2 3/4 cups water
    1 1/2 tablespoons butter
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 dash black pepper
    1 dash garlic powder
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1 teaspoon ketchup
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1 (10 ounce) can sliced mushrooms or (10 ounce) can baby clams, rinsed
    1/4 cup bell pepper, diced (any colour) (optional)
Preparation
    Combine all of the ingredients in a large microwavable casserole dish with a lid. Cook in the microwave on high for 18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and serve.
