Buttermilk Candy Glaze - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 cup butter, softened
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 cup buttermilk
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 tablespoon light corn syrup
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in saucepan, mix well.
    Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
    Cook to 236* on candy thermometer.
    Do not stir.
    Pour over cake.
